I know that it’s hard to believe but your mind is seriously powerful, and tapping into that power will help you to create an amazing life. You can always seek the help of a psychologist, psychiatrist, or try to increase your positive thinking. Positive thinking can have an incredible impact on your life and help make life worth experiencing. Don’t believe me? Why not try becoming just a little more mindful of your thoughts to see what happens. Read on!

Focus on The Positive

I know what you’re thinking: “That’s easily said than done, Nicole.” You’re so right, which is why you have to train your mind a little bit. As a coping mechanism, we tend to remember negative experiences, thoughts, and feelings. Where does all the good stuff go? It’s a matter of training your brain to recognize positive information. Sure, it was a rainy day, and you slipped on the sidewalk, but the cute guy on the bus smiled at you, and you ate a full healthy and delicious lunch. What about that A on the math quiz? Be grateful for the good!

Start Brain Dumping

When you wake up early in the morning, I want you to whip out your journal and start writing—anything! Brain dumping is when you just let out everything in your brain onto paper. You dump it out, so to say. All your anxieties and fears have a place to go! Write whatever you want. It doesn’t have to make sense. You just have to get it out—no judgment, people!

Practice Gratitude

Seems like every blog, website, and article about self-care is reminding you to make a gratitude list. It’s getting a little trite, but it works! Gratitude is a great way to help train your brain to focus on positive moments along with the overall good that is going on in your life. Try it yourself. Express gratitude for all the people, experiences, and things in your life. You have a lot more in this life than you think! Repeat after me: thank you, thank you, and thank you!

These are just a few of the ways you can get increase your positive thinking this year! If you feel like your negative thoughts are too heavy to overturn, then it’s time to visit a professional.
